Minister Azharuddin Participates in 2BHK House Patta Distribution; 361 Families Receive Ownership Documents

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Minorities Welfare and Public Enterprises Mohammed Azharuddin on Sunday participated in the Double Bedroom House Patta Distribution Programme held at the Hyderabad District Collectorate, where 361 eligible families received ownership documents under the State government’s housing scheme.

The programme was chaired by Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and attended by AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, former Mayor Majid Hussain, Addanki Dayakar, the Hyderabad District Collector, senior government officials, and public representatives.

Under the distribution drive, 187 pattas were allotted to beneficiaries from Chandrayangutta Assembly Constituency (Jangammet, Bandlaguda Mandal), 79 pattas to beneficiaries from Nampally Assembly Constituency (Bhojagutta, Asif Nagar Mandal), and 95 pattas under the Individual Applications category for houses at Nacharam (Mallapur-II).

Government Focuses on Affordable Housing

Speaking at the event, Azharuddin said the Jangammet In-Situ 2BHK Dignity Housing Project, launched during 2016-17, was developed at a cost of ₹23.35 crore and comprises 270 housing units in two G+9 residential blocks. Each unit was constructed at an approximate cost of ₹8.65 lakh. With the latest distribution of 187 pattas, most eligible beneficiaries under the project have now received ownership documents.

He also highlighted the Bhojagutta 2BHK Housing Project, which consists of 1,824 houses built across 73 G+3 residential blocks. Developed at a total cost of ₹141.36 crore, each 560 sq. ft. housing unit was constructed at an estimated cost of ₹7.75 lakh. A total of 79 additional pattas were distributed under the project during the programme.

Congratulating the beneficiaries, the Minister said providing permanent housing remains one of the government’s key priorities and reaffirmed the Telangana Government’s commitment to ensuring dignified housing for economically weaker sections.

Azharuddin appreciated the suggestions made by Akbaruddin Owaisi regarding the implementation of housing projects and assured that practical recommendations would be considered. He also commended the Hyderabad District Collector and officials for their efforts in executing the housing programme and directed them to expedite the completion of pending Double Bedroom housing projects.

The Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the government is accelerating the construction and distribution of Double Bedroom houses across Telangana through regular monitoring, field inspections, and progress reviews.

Recalling his recent visits to Chandrayangutta, Nampally, and other localities, Azharuddin reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the living standards of poor families through quality housing and essential civic infrastructure.

He also urged beneficiaries to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their new residential colonies, stressing that community participation is essential for creating safe and sustainable neighbourhoods.
