High Court Refused To Hear Petition Filed To Remove Kejriwal From Delhi CM Post: Asked Petitioner To Consult President Or Governor

Delhi/Hyderabad, April 4 (Maxim News): Aam Aadmi Party national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal got relief in the Delhi High Court.  The High Court refused to hear a petition filed to remove Kejriwal from the post of Delhi Chief Minister, who was arrested in Tihar jail in the liquor scam case.  The Court said that they cannot interfere in this matter.

Hindu Sena National President and social activist Vishnu Gupta filed this public interest petition after Kejriwal’s arrest on March 21.  It was struck down by a division bench comprising Justice Man Mohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora on Thursday. Kejriwal said whether to continue as CM depends on his personal decision.

However, the High Court asked the petitioner to consult the constitutional authorities (president or Governor) on this issue.  “Sometimes personal interest must be subservient to the national interest.  But that is his (Kejriwal) personal decision.  Is this a court, has the Court ever imposed the President’s rule or Governor’s rule?  The Lt. Governor of Delhi or the President will have to decide on this.  (Maxim News)
