Hyderabad, April 17 (Maxim News): On reliable information, Cyberabad SOT Madhapur Team & Madhapur Police jointly arrested 1) Katuri Surya Kumar and 2) Guthula Shyam Babu near Chanda Naik Tanda, Raja Residency under Madhapur PS and recovered 28 grams of MDMA worth 4.2 lakhs and 02 mobile phones from their possession. were seized.

The investigation revealed that the two were childhood friends and youths hailing from Rajahmundry, AP state. Among them, Katuri Surya Kumar went to Bangalore for higher studies in the year 2017 and completed B.Tech (Computers) at Jain University. In the meantime, one of his friends Abhi R/o Bangalore got into bad habits. He became addicted to MDMA.

He belongs to a good upper family. Father is a senior engineer in the Railway Department. He wanted to live a luxurious life and started a drug business last year to earn more money. Last year he was arrested by Chandanagar Police in Cyberabad after he was caught smuggling drugs (Cr.No 791/2023, U/s 8c, R/w 22(c) 27, 29 of NDPS act). He spent three months in jail and started smuggling drugs again without any change.

After getting out of jail, he went to Bangalore and bought MDMA from a Nigerian drug smuggler, used it himself, and also drugged his childhood friend Guthula Shyam Babu, another B.tech student from Rajahmundry, through whom he sold it to students from Rajahmundry and surrounding areas.

A few days earlier on 14.04.2024 Katuri Surya Kumar went to Bangalore and bought 30 grams of MDMA from God of Solman and returned to Hyderabad on 16.04.2024 and called his friend Guthula Shyam Babu to Hyderabad and the two met. They both consumed 2 grams of MDMA and planned to sell the remaining 28 grams of the drug to students in Rajahmundry. worth rs. 4.20 lakhs, two mobile phones Rs. 1.50 lakh were seized

They are selling MDMA from Rs.10,000/- to Rs.10,000/- per gram, hoping to earn more money as the drug becomes difficult to transport as police check posts are set up and checked on all major routes during elections across the country. 15,000/- are selling (Maxim News)
