220 KV Cable Caught Fire: Establishment Inquiry Ordered
Serilingampally/Hyderabad, May 12 (Maxim News): A Rayadurg-Miyapur 220 V cable caught fire in Miyapur on Sunday morning in a suspicious manner.

Due to this, the power supply to Kaitalapur and Miyapur 132/33 KV sub-stations was interrupted. The crew immediately noticed the fire and restored the supply through an alternate circuit. Such accidents did not happen when the city had the highest demand.
It is suspected that the accident took place in the morning when demand was lowest. Telangana TRANSCO and GENCO CMD Rizvi ordered an inquiry into the incident. South DISCOM CMD Musharraf Farooqui inspected the accident site.

He said that measures have been taken to prevent the impact of the incident on the power supply. the staff officers were directed to be constantly alert and to ensure that no untoward incident takes place at substations and other set-ups. (Maxim News)
