TSRTC Earned Rs. 24.22 Crores During Elections 

Hyderabad, May 17 (Maxim News): Lok Sabha elections have brought huge income to TSRTC as it has run more than 3,500 buses to two Telugu states during the elections. Around 1,500 buses have been diverted to Telangana and more than a thousand to Andhra Pradesh.

Apart from main bus stands like JBS, MGBS, special buses are run from LB Nagar, Uppal, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Aramghar etc.  With this, the transport company got a huge amount of income within 23 hours.

54 lakh people traveled in TSRTC buses on May 13, the day of polling.  Thus, the company has earned an income of Rs. 24.22 crores.  Officials said that an income of Rs. 15 crores has been collected by those who bought the ticket.  It has been revealed that Mahalkshmi’s free travel includes Rs. 9 crores.  But the government has to pay this amount to the TSRTC.  (Maxim News)
