Govt Aims to Make Women Millionaires In Next 5 Years: GHMC Additional Commissioner

Hyderabad: Additional Commissioner Chandrakant Reddy said that the government aims to make women millionaires in the next five years through the Mahila Shakti scheme.

A meeting was held with the UCD project officers and TLF leaders at the Panwar hall of the GHMC headquarters on Wednesday. UCD Joint Commissioner, Industries Department JD, Food Processing Society officials, LDMs of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal Districts, and Mepma State Mission Nodal Officers participated in this program.

On this occasion, UCD Additional Commissioner Chandrakant Reddy said that the meeting was organized as per the orders of the GHMC Commissioner. On this occasion, he said that under the Mahila Shakti scheme, the respective authorities should work in coordination to create awareness among the SHG women to set up canteens, catering units, Telangana pastries, boutiques, Pindi Girni, DTP Xerox center, tailoring, embroidery units, etc. TLF and SLF meetings should be completed within two days and SHG women should be given comprehensive awareness. They want to identify the group enterprises that run under the GHMC and take the initiative to set up the respective units. MEPMA State Mission Coordinators Prasanna Kumar and Padma explained the Mahila Shakti Scheme, the measures to be taken for the implementation of the scheme, the target assigned to GHMC, the loans and subsidies provided to the respective units, etc.

He said that canteens, food trucks, cold storage, catering services, service centers, construction equipment, etc. can be set up as major group enterprises. He said that Telangana pastries, pickles-powders, dairy products, hand-made crafts, gift article shops, grocery stores, and nurseries can be set up under Major Individual Enterprises. TLFs and SLFs should provide comprehensive awareness to SHG women and sensitize them to set up units.

The Town Level Federation Leaders were advised to identify SHG women for monthly, part-time, and full-time domestic service (washing dishes, washing clothes, cleaning the house, cooking, and taking care of elders and children). On this occasion, State Food Processing regarding the loan, subsidy, capital provided to SHG members in the food manufacturing sector, loan for the purchase of equipment, and regulations for setting up individual micro food processing units under the Prime Minister’s Scheme for Regularization of Micro Food Manufacturing Enterprises (PMFME) Society representative Sriram explained. To determine which food processing units can be set up within GHMC, the preliminary process for setting up food processing units was explained.

KVIC District Nodal Officer Rajesh Kumar explained about the Gramodaya Vikas Yojana (GVY) Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Employment Generation Scheme (PMEGP), PM Vishwakarma Scheme, Service Sector, Production Sector etc. It is suggested to plan for the establishment of the respective units according to the demand in the local areas. Mepma State Mission Co-ordinate Officer Chaitanya explained about the handout scheme to street vendors. He asked to identify fruit, vegetable, and flower markets and plan to set up cold storage rooms there.

UCD Project Joint Commissioner Venkata Reddy, PD Saujanya Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, and Medchal Malkaji Giri were present in this program. District lead bank officials, town, slum level women representatives, and others participated.
