AP Rain: APGOs JAC Donates Rs.8.1 Crore For Flood Relief

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Gazetted Officers Joint Action Committee (APGOs JAC) has proposed a donation of one day’s basic salary from its members to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support relief efforts in the flood-affected areas, particularly in Vijayawada.

With a membership of 27,872, the APGO JAC, which consists largely of young officers recruited through direct recruitment, estimates the total donation to be around ₹8.1 crore.

APGO JAC Chairman K.V. Krishnaiah emphasized the committee’s ongoing commitment to aiding the public during crises. In a letter to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, he highlighted their proactive role in disaster relief and dedication to state welfare. He also requested instructions for deducting salaries from willing members to facilitate the donation.

Krishnaiah also mentioned the committee’s previous involvement in disaster relief efforts, such as during the Kurnool floods and the Hudhud cyclone, demonstrating their dedication to both financial support and active participation in relief activities.

The letter was submitted by JAC Secretary General Ajay Medipalli, Convener Tirupati Naidu, and other committee members.
