Prasad From All Temples In Telangana To Hyderabad Lab

Hyderabad, Sept 25 (Maxim News): The issue of adulterated ghee that has come to the fore with this controversy has raised doubts about the quality of ghee in temples across the country.

keeping in view the Tirumala Laddu controversy, which has created a political uproar in Andhra Pradesh, is being debated across the country. The dispute which has made the whole country angry at once is not going to be settled now.

Telangana government has made a key decision in this process. The government has decided to test the offerings in all the temples across the state. In this order, the authorities have already sent the ghee and other materials used in the famous temples of the state like Vemulawada, yadagirigutta, Bhadrachalam, Basara, and Hanumakonda Bhadrakali Prasad to the lab in Hyderabad for testing  Reports related to these are due. Samples of ghee used in Yadagirigutta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy prasadam were collected and sent to the lab in Cherlapally, Hyderabad.

About 20,000 To 25,000 Kg Of Ghee Is Consumed Per Month

Temple Executive Office Bhaskar Rao said that the report related to the tests will come in four to five days.  Mother Dairy ghee has been used here for several years.

A special committee has been appointed for the preparation of prasads in Bhadrachalam, Ramadevi said.  Ghee samples have been sent for tests as part of the preliminary measures, he said. It is mentioned that about 3000 to 4000 laddoos are made daily in the temple. Also, the ghee used for making laddoos in the Vemulawada temple was sent for testing 20 days ago.

Executive Officer Vijayarama Rao said that Karimnagar Dairy ghee has been used for making prasads in the Basara Saraswati Ammavari Temple, but Vijaya Dairy ghee has been used since last week on the orders of the Devadaya Department.  

At Bhadrakali Temple in Hanamkonda, food safety officials conducted inspections and checked the quality of prasads. The samples were collected and sent to Hyderabad lab.(Maxim News)
