37 Testing Centers In Telangana For Vehicle Scrapping

Hyderabad, Oct 9 (Maxim News): Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar has announced that the vehicle scrap policy will be implemented in the state. He said that there is a possibility of voluntary scrapping of personal vehicles over 15 years old.

He said that special concessions are being given for this, He announced that the state has joined the Sarathi Vahan portal from Tuesday due to the problems in inter-state relations.

He said that the proper procedure for checking vehicles is not being implemented and they are bringing on an automatic testing center in consultation with the Central government. He said that each center will cost Rs. 8 crore. He said that old government vehicles will be phased out through e-auction, in this order, 37 new testing centers will be set up in the state for scrapping, he said.

Transport Commissioner Illambarthi said that if the vehicle is given for voluntary scrapping after 15 years, the certificate of deposit will be received.  He explained that if a new vehicle is purchased in the same range in the next two years, it will be exempted from MV tax.  Even if there are old dues.  If the vehicle is taken for scrap, there is also a possibility to make a one-time settlement.  He said that the government has permitted to set up 37 automated testing centers, 33 in the district and 4 in Hyderabad.

While Rs. 8 crores are required for each of them, the total amount is Rs. 296 crore has been allocated. Sarathi Vahan will be fully implemented within a year and the software is being upgraded. He said that there is no condition to scrap private vehicles that are over 15 years old,  it can be done according to their wishes.  a 10 percent tax rebate will be given every year and quarter for transport vehicles within 8 years.  It has been revealed that vehicles over 15 years old will have to pay additional tax if they want to re-register them instead and send them to scrap.
