Malakpet Race Course Will Be Shifted To Fourth City?
Hyderabad, Oct 10 (Maxim News): it has been learned that the State government is planning to take the site of the famous Malakpet Race Club in Hyderabad City and allocate land at Fourth City as an alternative.

According to the information of the concerned parties, there have already been many discussions on this, Hyderabad Race Course is one of the most historic racecourses in the country. It is spread over about 168 acres in the Malakpet area.
It is known that discussions were held to give one and a half times the land as an alternative to this place. Sources said that this proposal is still under discussion and a final decision is likely to be taken soon.

In addition, reliable sources said that the government is thinking of taking the land of the dilapidated City Police Line (CPL) quarters in Amberpet and using the funds generated by them for the development of the Musi cleaning project.
A race club was started in 1886 during the Nizam’s reign, the then Nizam Mir Mahbub Ali moved it to Malakpet in the same year to be near his home. Hyderabad Race Club, established in Secunderabad in 1961 bought the race course land in Malakpet and started operations from there in 1968.

All the facilities like racing, training, professional quarters, and parking have been provided. Later it got recognition through competitions at the national level. The region has expanded exponentially in the last five decades. Located in the center of the busy area of the Old City.
In the current situation, if this race course is moved out of the city, the government hopes that there will be an opportunity for further expansion and provision of more facilities. It seems that the government’s idea is to take its land and give it to private companies for development.

It is learned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy discussed the same issue with Race Club Chairman R. Surender Reddy and other leaders. The concerned sources said that the government has come forward to give one and a half times the land as an alternative to the land in Malakpet, discussions have taken place three to four times and a final decision has to be taken.
In addition, it is known that the race club trustee has been asked to develop a golf course between Shamshabad Airport and Fourth City. (Maxim News)
