Seethakka Launched Telangana Handicapped Portal At Secretariat

Hyderabad, Oct 14 (Maxim News): Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development and Women & Child Welfare, Seethakka launched the Telangana handicapped Job Portal at the Secretariat.

On this occasion, the directorate of the Women’s Welfare department handed over appointment orders to ten people on the helpline. Women and Child Welfare Department Secretary Vakati Karuna, Disabled Cooperative Corporation Chairman Veeraiah, handicapped, Elderly, Empowerment Department JD Shailaja, representatives of disabled associations, and others were present in this program.

Minister Sitakka said that there are few opportunities for disabled people in the employment sector, they face many obstacles to fight like other communities, and she said that the physical defect is not in our hands. She said there is a risk of becoming disabled due to malnutrition and accidents. That is why an online job portal has been launched to provide them with job opportunities, the Minister said. She said that reservations should be made for disabled people in private jobs, disabled people do not need to go around the companies, it is enough to register in the online job portal.

Minister Sethakka clarified that jobs will come depending on their qualification and that is why they have been made available through the postal services.

Minister Sitakka said that we are allocating five percent of the welfare funds to the disabled and we are trying to provide four percent reservation in private jobs. They are trying to increase it to four percent, which was one percent in the past. She said that reservations will be made for disabled people in welfare schemes like Indiramma houses. She clarified that the government is committed to helping the disabled in the fields of welfare, education, and employment. In this year’s budget, Rs. 50 crores are being spent. She said that disabled people do not need to go around the authorities. She said that they can share their problems directly with us and if a message is passed, we will solve their problem.

Minister Sitakka said that the backlog posts will be filled soon and the process of filling up the backlog posts pending for a long time has been started. She said that they would help with the self-employment of disabled people at the call center of the Directorate of Women and Child Welfare.
