Section 144 in Hyderabad

This order will remain in effect from 6:00 PM on October 27, 2024, until 6:00 PM on November 28, 2024. During this period, the Hyderabad Police will closely monitor any activity that could lead to public disturbance and take swift action to uphold the restrictions.

To prevent such disruptions, Hyderabad City Police has implemented a restriction on public gatherings, processions, rallies, and protests involving five or more individuals. Additionally, the display of symbols, flags, placards, or electronic messages that could incite public disorder is also prohibited within city limits.

While the prohibition applies broadly, an exception has been made for peaceful demonstrations.

Individuals wishing to protest can only do so legally at Indira Park Dharna Chowk, the designated area for peaceful assemblies in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Unauthorized gatherings at any other location within the city limits are strictly forbidden, and violators may face prosecution.

The following groups are exempted from this restriction:

  • On-duty Police Officers, including Home Guards and
    Special Police Officers (SPOs)
  • Military personnel who are performing their official duties
  • Authorized funeral processions
  • Flying Squad of the Education Department
  • Any other groups or individuals granted exemption by a competent authority

These exemptions ensure that essential services and authorized activities remain unaffected.

The Hyderabad Police has warned that individuals or groups violating these restrictions, particularly around sensitive areas such as the Secretariat, will be subject to prosecution.

The department has emphasized its commitment to enforcing these measures to prevent any breaches of public peace and security.
