Busani Venkateswara Rao Appointed As Chairman Of Dedicated BC Commission

Hyderabad, Nov 5 (Maxim News): The Telangana government headed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has set up a special commission to finalize the BC reservations in the local body elections to be held in Telangana soon. Retired IAS officer Busani Venkateswara Rao has been appointed as the Chairman of this commission. The secretary of this commission will be the secretary of BC Gurukula Society B. Saidulu.

Revanth Sarkar suggested to the commission to conduct an in-depth contemporary study on the backwardness, nature, and implications of BCs in the local bodies of the state and to propose reservations to be provided in a proportionate manner by the local bodies in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the guidelines of the Supreme Court.

It has been clarified to the Commission that a comprehensive report should be submitted within a month. It is reported that Revanth Sarkar is planning to go to local body elections this December.

Busani Venkateswara Rao is a 1993 batch IAS officer. He retired on 31st December 2019. He stood as the topper in the 1987 Group-1 examination. After that, he was selected for IAS. Worked in various capacities in the united Andhra Pradesh as well as in the separate state of Telangana. After the formation of Telangana as a new state, he was instrumental in service matters, training, elections, action plans, administration, welfare, and development programs.

He retired as the Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department. Meanwhile, the newly formed Congress government in Telangana decided to utilize his services once again. He was entrusted with the responsibility of the BC Reservations Commission in important local elections.  (Maxim News)
