Sub-Committees Should Work Actively: Media Academy Chairman Sreenivas Reddy

Hyderabad, Nov 11 (Maxim News): Media Academy Chairman K. Sreenivas Reddy said that the sub-committees of journalists’ health, housing, women’s welfare, anti-assaults, social and digital media, rural journalists’ welfare, Bhava Sirba magazine under the umbrella of Telangana State Working Journalists’ Association should work actively with dedication.

Telangana Media Academy Chairman, Indian Journalists Union (IJU) National President, TUWJ Adviser K. Sreenivas Reddy suggested and spoke in the meeting of the sub-committee officials chaired by state president K. Virhat Ali at TUWJ office in Bashir Bagh, recently. Srinivas Reddy suggested that the respective committees should perform their duties properly and work to increase the confidence of the journalists towards the union. He assured that the health committee has been providing satisfactory services for the last five years. He said that the government will take steps to design a health scheme for journalists and until that scheme is introduced, journalists should get health services at NIMS hospital. Also, the housing committee wants to work hard to collect comprehensive information on journalists who have not visited the houses without being in any society. He clarified that the government is positive about providing home sites to journalists from the mandal level to the state level. He suggested that the Anti-Attacks Committee should act vigilantly to stop the attacks on journalists in the state. The women’s committee should work hard to find out the special problems faced by women in the profession.

In this meeting, Union State General Secretary K. Rannarayana, IJU Secretary Y. Narender Reddy, Health Committee Advisor Dr. Dhanunjaya, Convener A. Rajesh, Housing Committee Convener V. V. Ramana, Women Committee Convener P. Swaroopa, Rural Journalists Committee Convener Gudipalli Srinivas and members of the respective committees participated. (Maxim News)
