Tension Prevails In Bachupally, Ghatkesar Over Death Of Inter Students

Hyderabad, Dec 3 (Maxim News): Mild tension prevailed at two private junior colleges in Bachupally and Ghatkesar on Tuesday, with the family members and student groups staging a protest on the death of two intermediate students who died by suicide allegedly due to pressure from the college staff and management on Monday.

Following the suicide of Prazgya Reddy, a second-year intermediate student in the college hostel at Nizampet in Bachupally, protestors gathered in large numbers on the college premises demanding action against the college management. They criticized the government’s inaction even as several students were ending their lives due to harassment from colleges. They demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy respond to these deaths.

On the other hand, protests were held on the college premises at Annojiguda in Pocharam IT Corridor where N. Tanish Nayak, a first-year intermediate student died by suicide in the bathroom due to alleged harassment from lecturers. Additional police force was deployed at the spot to prevent any untoward incident. Police officials said the protests ended peacefully.  (Maxim News)
