Light to Moderate Rains Expected in Hyderabad Today: Yellow Alert Issued

Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) – Hyderabad has predicted light to moderate rains across Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana on Friday. A yellow alert has been issued for the state, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) in several districts.

According to the IMD, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Jangaon, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.

Weather Forecast for Hyderabad

For Hyderabad, the IMD has predicted cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms, accompanied by gusty winds (30-40 kmph).

The city’s maximum temperature is expected to be around 34°C, while the minimum temperature will likely be around 24°C.

Temperature Trends & Rainfall Update

The IMD also mentioned that temperatures in Hyderabad are expected to drop by 2-3°C on Friday but will gradually rise again over the next three days.

On Thursday, heavy rains lashed Hyderabad, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching summer heat. According to the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS), several areas recorded significant rainfall, with the GHMC head office in Himayatnagar receiving the highest rainfall at 91 mm. Other recorded rainfall levels include:

  • Malakpet: 90 mm
  • Saroornagar: 89.5 mm
  • Goshamahal: 88 mm
  • Musheerabad: 87.8 mm

With more rain expected in the coming days, residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and take necessary precautions.
