AI Days 2025 – India’s Largest Gathering Of AI Innovators Concludes In Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The second flagship edition of AI Days 2025, India’s largest gathering of AI innovators, leaders, and enablers, successfully concluded on Sunday at Tech Mahindra, Madhapur. Hosted by Viswam.AI — a joint initiative of Swecha and IIIT Hyderabad — the two-day conference, according a press note issued in the city today  brought together over 1,500 participants for collaborative problem-solving, deep tech dives, and discussions around the future of Artificial Intelligence in the Global South.

With over 75 distinguished speakersseven workshopstwo masterclassesthree thought leader talksthree plenary panels, and four closed-door roundtables, the conference spotlighted key developments and urgent needs in the AI landscape. Discussions emphasized the importance of open-source language models, low-cost compute infrastructure, and AI systems that reflect the cultural and linguistic diversity of India and the Global South.

SparkCamp Hackathon, one of the flagship events, saw participation from over 200 finalist teams representing 20+ colleges across the country. The competition, focusing on domains such as AgriTech, CreativeTech, EduTech, and HealthTech, selected eight winning teams for their innovative, applied AI solutions.

The speaker lineup featured thought leaders from across industry, academia, and government, including:

  • Prashanth Nandella, President, HYSEA
  • Srini Raju, Chairman, iLabs Capital
  • Soumith Chintala, Co-Founder, PyTorch
  • Renata Avila, CEO, Open Knowledge Foundation
  • Rohit Chennamaneni, Co-Founder, Darwinbox
  • Tarun Dua, Founder, E2E Networks
  • Senior leaders like Sunil Abraham (Meta), Abhishek Upperwal (Soket AI), Anoop Kunchukuttan (AI4Bharat)
  • And Bhavesh Mishra, Deputy Secretary, ITE&C Department, who presented the government’s inclusive AI vision

In a major announcement, Viswam.AI revealed plans to launch a nationwide summer internship program on AI, aimed at training 3 lakh engineering students across India. The initiative is expected to further democratize access to AI education and skilling, particularly for students from underserved regions.

Viswam.AI also reiterated its call for contributors to join the Telugu Corpus building initiative, a foundational effort to develop inclusive AI systems for Indian languages.
