Tension Flared On Telangana-Chhattisgarh Border: 2,000 Security Forces Surrounded At Karregutta
Mulugu/Chhattisgarh/Hyderabad, April 22 (Maxim News): Tension has flared on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. 2,000 security forces have surrounded the Karreguttas in the Mulugu district. Karreguttas are spread across the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. The operation was launched after information was received that there were many Maoists in the karreguttas. The operation is being conducted under the name Bachao Karreguttalu. CRPF forces have surrounded the Karreguttas from both the Chhattisgarh and Telangana sides. The Maoists, who have already announced that they have planted heavy explosives around the Karreguttas, have issued warnings to the tribals not to go to that side.
There is tension as to what will happen next. However, it seems that there has been a gunfight between security forces and Maoists since this morning (Tuesday) near Karreguttala in Usur block. However, the police have not confirmed the firing. However, the police say that they are only conducting a search operation and that no firing is taking place.
On the other hand, a letter was released in the name of the Maoists a few days ago. A letter was released in the name of Venkatapuram Division Area Santa, saying that bombs and landmines have been planted around karreguttala and that no one should come. However, civil rights groups later said that it was all a fake letter.
The Maoists said that Maoist groups do not release such letters and that there is no one by the name of Santa. However, neither the police nor the Maoists have given any information about what is happening in Karreguttala. (Maxim News)
