Hyderabad, Dec 9 (Maxim News): GHMC Call Centre received about the news of collapse of a newly constructed G+6 floor building in Nanakramguda locality. Immediately, information has been passed on to the traffic, fire, electricity, police and Medical and health Departments for instant rescue and relief operations.
The services of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were also pressed into service. Hon’ble Home Minister, several City Ministers, H.W. Mayor, Dy. Mayor, Police, GHMC and other Department officials have reached the spot and arranged rescue operations throughout the night. The Hon’ble Minister for MA&UD closely supervised the rescue & relief operations from the disaster site.
So far 4 bodies have been retrieved from the rubble and 2 persons were rescued alive and admitted in Hospital for medical care.
The Hon’ble Minister for MA&UD have announced an exgratia of Rs.10.00 lakhs each for loss of life of each adult. Survivors were being provided best medical care at the Govt. expenses. Injured persons will get a lakh of rupees in addition to the treatment cost.
The Govt. have arranged for dispatch of dead bodies and their family members to their native places in Andhra Pradesh through TSRTC.
The Hon’ble Minister for MA&UD have ordered for keeping the Deputy Commissioner and Assistant City Planner under suspension, pending enquiry into the cause of the accident.
The JNTU, Hyderabad has been entrusted with the responsibility to find out the cause of the accident. A preliminary report in this regard is expected tonight.
The Govt. also requested the Secretary to Govt., MA&UD Deptt. to examine the issues involved and suggest systemic improvements to avoid such incidents in future.
