Tourists Queued Up At Nagarjuna Sagar: Huge Traffic Jam For 5 KMs
Nagaruna Sagar/Hyderabad, Aug 3 (Maxim News): The recent lifting of the gates of Nagarjuna Sagar Dam due to heavy floods has increased the number of visitors. Since it was the weekend, thousands of visitors came to see the Sagar on Sunday (August 3). There was a huge crowd around the dam as a large number of people came from Hyderabad and the Telugu states.
Due to the heavy influx of visitors, there was a huge traffic jam near Sagar. Vehicles were stopped for about 5 kilometers, Commuters were stuck in the traffic jam for hours and forced to face difficulties. The police had to work hard to clear the traffic.
On the other hand, as the rains subsided, the flood flow from the upper reaches of Nagarjunasagar has decreased. Due to this, the authorities have closed the 20 crust gates of the project.
For the first time in 18 years, the project gates were lifted in July, which has led to an increase in the number of tourists visiting the lake. Officials have advised tourists to be aware of this as the gates are currently closed. (Maxim News)
