Amid this chaos, a mild earthquake struck Vikarabad district early Thursday morning around 4 a.m., adding to public anxiety. The tremors were felt primarily in Parigi mandal, including Basireddypalli, Rangapur, and Nyamathnagar villages.
Startled by the sudden tremors, residents rushed out of their homes in fear, despite the quake lasting only a few seconds. Many people remained on the roads, worried about possible aftershocks.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to stay on high alert and monitor the situation closely. Local authorities have begun assessing the impact and reassuring residents as heavy rains continue to batter the state.
