He participated in a program against the Election Commission of India, in support of the allegations being made by the senior AICC leader Rajiv Gandhi saying that the present Central government headed by the Prime Minister is election with vote theft in Visakhapatnam. Speaking on this occasion, he responded to the water dispute between the Telugu states. Bhatti clarified that the Telangana state was created for water rights and that discussions on the issue of surplus water will take place only after the projects in the state are completed and allocations are made.

‘It is not right to talk about water going into the sea. The projects we have undertaken on Godavari are not yet completed. it would be fair if the projects are built only after the share of both the states is clear. The interests of the state are more important to us than political interests.

After the construction of our projects is completed, if there is surplus water, we can use it. If we build projects downstream without meeting our needs, there will be a problem in allocations, said Bhatti. (Maxim News)
