Hyderabad, Aug 18 (Maxim News): Electricity Department CMD Musharraf Farooqui inquired about the tragedy that took place during the Sri Krishnashtami celebrations in Gokul Nagar, Ramanthapur. He reached the spot and inspected it.
He said that the TV cable conductor wire was in contact with the 11 KV power wire. Due to this, current was also passing through the TV cable. He said that the TV cable touched the chariot in the procession, and the entire chariot was supplied with current. He assured that the incident would be brought to the notice of the government and that the families of the deceased would be provided with ex-gratia. He said that as an immediate action, all the cable wires present here will be removed, and the electric wires lying below will be repaired.
He revealed that on the occasion of the upcoming Vinayaka and Durga Mata Navratri, the wires will be repaired everywhere in the city.
Meanwhile, the colony residents took to the road, claiming that the negligence of the electricity department was the reason. This has created tension in Ramanthapur. The locals are angry over the Gokul Nagar electric shock incident. The colony residents, who had gathered on the Ramanthapur road, protested. The locals are alleging that the incident took place due to the negligence of the electricity department officials. They are demanding compensation of fifty lakhs and a government job for the families of the deceased. They are shouting slogans that immediate action should be taken against the negligent electricity department officials. Due to the agitation of the colony residents, a traffic jam was created on the Ramanthaur-Uppal road. However, one person out of the four injured in the incident died. Doctors said that the person, identified as Ganesh, died while receiving treatment at the hospital. The death toll in the electric shock incident has now reached six. (Maxim News)
