Nalgonda/Hyderabad, Aug 24 (Maxim News): Flooding has hit the Nagarjuna Sagar project. Heavy flood water is entering the dam due to the rains upstream. With this, the project looks like a full tank. The project has acquired a water feature. Twenty-six crust gates are being lifted, and water is being released downstream. In this process, tourists are flocking in large numbers to see the beauty of the Sagar.
On Sunday (August 24) afternoon, 4,15,401 cusecs of flood water reached the Nagarjuna Sagar project. The full water level of the project is 590 feet. The current water level is 584.40 feet. The full water storage capacity of the project is 312.0450 TMC. The current water storage of the project is 297.1465 TMC.
A total of 26 cresh gaztes of the nagarjuna Sagar project are being lifted and water is being released downstream. Electricity generation is now continuing at the project’s main hydro electric power station. (Maxim News)
