Ganesh Festive Boom! Over ₹650 Crores Business Generated In Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Sept 6 (Maxim News): The Ganesh immersion festival is going on in Hyderabad in a grand manner. However, this year, Ganapati has showered crores on traders. Officials estimate that this year’s Ganapati festival has generated business worth over Rs. 650 crore in Hyderabad city. It seems that small and big businesses have done huge business due to this Ganapati festival. However, officials estimate that a business of around Rs. 50 crore has been generated in Dhoolpet in Hyderabad city.
Here, idol making starts a few months in advance. From small idols to huge Ganeshas are made here. Hundreds of families depend on this business for their livelihood. There is a huge demand for clay, plaster of Paris, paints, and decorative materials in idol making. This business provides good employment to local artisans and workers. It is said that a business worth more than Rs. 650 crore has been done, from the materials required for making Ganesha to the immersion.
Ganesh festivals are a good demand for many types of businesses. There is a huge demand for electric lamps, garlands, decorative items, and canopies needed to decorate mandapams. Through these, tent houses, florists, and electricians get good income. Also, the sales of puja materials, coconuts, fruits, pathri, turmeric, saffron, and camphor increase. Small shops and small traders on the streets earn significant profits from these festivals. The preparation of laddus, modaks, and anna prasads, which are offered as offerings to Ganapati, has also become a big business.
The famous laddu auction songs in Hyderabad also command crores of rupees. Sweet shops and catering services that make them also take special orders for Ganesh Utsav. Lakhs of rupees are spent on organizing Annaprasadam in the mandapams. Heavy vehicles, tractors and cranes are hired to transport the Ganesh idols to the mandapams and for immersion. These transport services have also become a significant business. Thousands of rupees are spent on moving each idol. It is said that a total business of over Rs. 650 crores has been done.
