IT Raids | Hyderabad, Sept. 17: Income Tax (IT) officials launched a series of coordinated searches on Wednesday across Hyderabad, Warangal, and Nellore, targeting gold shopkeepers and related businesses.

The sudden raids created a stir in commercial zones, especially in Hyderabad’s upscale Banjara Hills and parts of Secunderabad.
According to initial details, IT teams were seen inspecting business establishments along Banjara Hills Road No. 10.

Simultaneously, searches were carried out in Warangal at multiple locations linked to gold traders.
While officials have not released an official statement, sources indicated that gold shopkeepers are the primary focus of the ongoing action.
IT Raids Extend to Nellore Jewelry Stores:
The operation was not confined to Telangana alone. In Andhra Pradesh, IT officials conducted searches in Achariveedhi, Nellore.
A well-known jewelry store came under the scanner as records were thoroughly examined.

Teams also visited the residence of a businessman in the area, intensifying speculation that the raids could be linked to suspected irregularities in financial transactions.
Focus on Gold Sector Under Scrutiny
The gold trade has often been under the radar of tax authorities, particularly during periods of fluctuating market prices and festive seasons when sales volumes surge.
The latest round of inspections appears to be part of a larger exercise aimed at tightening compliance within the sector.
However, IT officials have yet to confirm whether the Hyderabad, Warangal, and Nellore raids are interconnected or part of separate inquiries.
