Ours Is a History of Struggle Written by the People: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, Sept. 17: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday described Telangana’s legacy as one of sacrifice and people’s movements, declaring that “ours is a history of struggle written by the people.” He was speaking after unfurling the national flag at the Telangana People’s Governance Day celebrations at Public Garden.

The Chief Minister said Telangana’s armed struggle against oppression has a special place in history. “Ours is a struggle that can be written in golden letters in world movements. With the spirit of armed struggle, we set aside the dictatorial rule of yesterday. Nepotism and patronage have no place in our rule. We are role models in freedom, equal opportunities, and social justice,” he stated.

Focus on Education, Farmers, and Women’s Empowerment

Revanth Reddy highlighted the state government’s priorities in education and youth empowerment. “Our youth should show their strength through higher education. The shape of schools is going to change in the future. We are giving priority to sports along with education. We are soon bringing a state education policy,” he said.

He also acknowledged the contribution of women in Telangana’s struggles, mentioning Chakali Ailamma, Mallu Swarajyam, and Arutla Kamaladevi. The CM announced plans to set up more women’s marts for DWCRA products and reaffirmed support to farmers. “Despite financial difficulties, we have not compromised on the welfare of farmers. We are providing 24-hour free electricity for tillage machines,” he added.

Vision for Telangana’s Growth and Hyderabad’s Future

On state resources, the Chief Minister emphasized protecting Krishna and Godavari river waters, citing legal preparations to secure Telangana’s share. He said projects like the SLBC tunnel will address issues such as fluoride contamination.

Outlining his vision for Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy said the city would be developed as “the Gateway of the World.” He announced transformation of the Musi River, creation of a “future city” on 30,000 acres, and plans for the Regional Ring Road along with 12 new radial roads. “By 2047, our state should become a $3 trillion economy,” he declared.

Metro Expansion and Telangana Rising 2047

The Chief Minister confirmed that metro expansion work will begin soon to improve connectivity in Hyderabad. He also pledged to curb the drug problem, calling it a curse for the youth, and urged public cooperation in eradicating narcotics. “Our police have shown their strength in curbing these,” he said.

Revanth Reddy announced that the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document will be presented to the people on December 9. The roadmap includes major urban development projects, enhanced infrastructure, and measures to boost state income. “With the intention of building a great city for the country, we are bringing a future city on 30 thousand acres. This will greatly increase the state’s income. The regional ring road will also be an indicator of development. We are making plans to lay 12 radial roads,” he added.
