Speaking at Telangana Bhavan here on Monday, KTR accused the government of deliberately targeting poor families with bulldozer demolitions while sparing influential leaders.

KTR questioned why demolitions were being carried out on Sundays, despite a High Court directive against evictions on court holidays.

“Why is Revanth Reddy demolishing poor people’s houses on Sundays?” he asked, pointing to the demolition drive in Gajularamaram. “Even though the High Court said not to carry out demolitions on holidays, poor houses were torn down on a court holiday,” he added.

He warned that after Gajularamaram, bulldozers could soon reach Borabanda basti in Jubilee Hills. “If people vote for Congress, it is like giving a licence to demolish poor homes,” KTR alleged.

He also said the Congress had destroyed the house of a BRS party worker named Sardar. “It is my responsibility to rebuild the house that Congress demolished,” he assured workers.

Targeting the Congress, KTR remarked, “The Congress party’s cinema is over. In two years, it has done nothing.” He alleged that bulldozers were being used selectively.

“They go only to the houses of the poor, not to the houses of the rich,” he said, pointing out that ministers and senior leaders had built houses on government lands near Usman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, but no action was taken against them.

KTR contrasted this with BRS track record, citing Hyderabad’s development under his party. “We developed Hyderabad and built 42 flyovers,” he said.

He urged voters in Jubilee Hills and GHMC areas not to fall for “money politics” and instead strengthen BRS in the upcoming elections.

The Jubilee Hills meeting was marked by sharp criticism of both Congress and BJP, with KTR accusing them of double standards on bulldozer politics and neglecting the promises made to people. (Maxim News)
