NEET Topper Commits Suicide On Day Of Admission In Chandrapur

Mumbai/Hyderabad, Sept. 24 (Maxim News): In a tragic turn of events, a 19-year-old student from Nawargaon in Chandrapur district, Maharashtra, committed suicide on the day of his medical college admission. The student, who had secured an impressive 99.99 percentile in NEET UG-2025, was ranked 1,475 nationally.

He was scheduled to join an MBBS program at a college in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. However, while preparations for his move were underway, he ended his life by hanging himself at home. The shocking incident has left his family and the local community in disbelief.

Police confirmed the recovery of a suicide note at the scene. While the full content of the note has not been disclosed, sources revealed that the student expressed in it that he did not want to pursue medical education. The note has become a key focus in the ongoing police investigation.

The student’s family expressed their grief and shock over the sudden loss. “Everything was being prepared for his medical studies. We could never have imagined that he would take such a step,” said a family member. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death and are examining possible factors that led to this tragedy.

This incident highlights the growing concerns over mental health pressures among high-achieving students, particularly those preparing for competitive exams like NEET. Experts suggest that counseling and guidance for career choices can be crucial in preventing such tragedies.
