Sub-Standard Laddu Prasadam Sold In Vemulawada Shrine
Rajanna sircilla/Hyderabad, Oct 10 (Maxim News): Sub-standard laddu prasadam is being sold at Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada. Several complaints were received about the quality of laddus, with devotees saying that those sold at prasadam counters had a different smell and sometimes even fungus.
Noticing fungus and a stale smell from the laddus, some devotees complained to the officials. Immediately, the temple authorities replaced the prasadam trays and supplied fresh laddus to devotees. The stale smell was said to have developed as the laddus were not dried properly due to continuous rains and change in weather. About 3,000 laddus were found damaged.
Responding to the issue, temple AEO Srinivas informed that moisture developed at the bottom of a few laddu trays due to continuous rainfall during the last two to three days. As a result, a stale smell emanated from the laddus.
When devotees brought the issue to their notice, the staff changed trays and supplied fresh laddus to devotees, he said and assured that steps would be taken to prevent such incidents in the future. (Maxim News)
