Nizamabad constable murder | Hyderabad, Oct 18: The Director General of Police took a serious view of the murder of Constable Pramod, who was serving with the Nizamabad CCS, and issued urgent instructions to secure the accused without delay.

The DGP expressed deep grief over the death of a constable described as sincere in his duties, and stressed immediate, coordinated action. The incident has triggered swift police measures and close supervision at senior levels.

According to the reports, the accused, identified as Sheikh Riyaz, attacked Constable Pramod with a knife while he was being taken to the police station after being intercepted on actionable information.

The police had reportedly received inputs on Riyaz’s involvement in vehicle thefts and chain-snatching offences.

However, during the movement to the station, Riyaz allegedly stabbed the constable and fled, leading to an intensive search operation.

In response, the DGP directed the Nizamabad Police Commissioner to constitute special teams to apprehend the accused at once.

He instructed Multi Zone-1 IGP Chandrasekhar Reddy to reach the scene and oversee the situation on the ground.

The directions also included a visit to the bereaved family of Constable Pramod to offer condolences and ensure necessary assistance.

Therefore, the top leadership placed emphasis on both operational follow-through and welfare support.

The DGP further ordered that search operations be intensified based on evidence recovered from the crime scene.

He asked that all leads be pursued immediately and that the accused be arrested without delay. Meanwhile, field units were told to coordinate and accelerate efforts across likely hideouts. Then, with senior oversight in place, the force moved to combine technical inputs and ground intelligence to close in on the suspect.

Officials underlined that all actions should proceed on priority, with continuous review until the accused is in custody. Also, the instructions highlighted the need to maintain public confidence and support the constable’s family.

Therefore, the directives framed a clear, time-bound course to bring the accused to justice and uphold the morale of the force following the loss of a colleague.
