The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has ramped up its campaign for the Jubilee Hills by-election in Hyderabad with a large-scale effort described as a northern-style carpet bombing program. As part of this initiative, BJP leaders campaigned in 50 areas simultaneously across the constituency on Wednesday, marking the party’s most aggressive push so far in the poll-bound region.

Union Minister Kishan Reddy spearheaded the BJP’s campaign in the Srinagar Colony area, while State party president Ramchandra Rao led activities in the Erragadda division. Several MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and other key leaders from across the state also participated in the massive drive aimed at strengthening the BJP’s presence in the constituency.

Addressing a gathering, Union Minister Kishan Reddy said that in the previous election, the people of Telangana had voted for Congress to protest against KCR’s family rule, corruption, misgovernance, and unfulfilled promises.

He stated that despite KCR’s assurances to make the roads “like mirrors,” the condition in many parts of Jubilee Hills tells a different story. According to him, “We went on a one hour march in Borabanda, Rahmatnagar, Sheikhpet, Srinagar Colony, anywhere and asked for votes,” he said, challenging voters to assess the local conditions themselves.

Kishan Reddy questioned whether the BRS and Congress governments were responsible for the current civic issues, alleging that “the Majlis is contesting under the guise of the Congress.” He further accused the MIM of actively campaigning and attempting to capture Hyderabad through backdoor political arrangements.

Meanwhile, at a campaign event in Erragadda, BJP state president Ramchandra Rao asserted that the BJP has emerged as the only viable alternative in Telangana. He said that a victory for party candidate Deepak Reddy in this election would mark the beginning of a “double engine government” in the state. BJP Legislative Party leader Maheshwar Reddy also joined the campaign, criticizing the Congress for making what he called “fake promises,” and claimed that even after two years in power, the government had failed to show any sincerity in implementing its assurances.
