- 25 Booked for Unauthorised Tandur Protest Over Chevella Accident
Hyderabad: Police in Tandur town, Vikarabad district, have registered cases against 25 individuals for staging a protest without permission, following the tragic Chevella Road Accident that claimed 19 lives.
The accident, which occurred a few days ago near Mirzaguda in Chevella mandal, involved an RTC bus and a tipper lorry.
Police File FIR Over Tandur Dharna on Road Safety Issues
Pained by recurring accidents in the region, locals and members of the Tandur Development Forum organised a dharna at William X Road in Tandur, demanding immediate road repairs and improved safety measures.
The protest drew large participation from residents, traders, and youth.
Police, however, stated that the demonstration was held without official permission and caused disruption to public transport.
Acting on a complaint filed by constable Akhilesh, cases were registered against 25 participants under Sections 223, 126(2), and 292 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The accused include Kamal Athar, Gopala Krishna, Raj Kumar, Basith, Raju Goud, Javeed, Asif, Sangeeth Takur, Shobha Rani, Parimala, Anitha, Adil, Fayum, Vijayalaxmi Pandith, Nagaram Mallesham, Musthafa, Arun, Adam Khan, Sajeed, Imtiaz Baba, Sami, Wahoof Abdul, Somashankar, Sukur, and Shallu. Sub-Inspector Pogula Srishylam is leading the investigation.
