Rigging Not Possible in Modern Elections: Mahesh Kumar Goud
Hyderabad, Nov. 12 (Maxim News): Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud said that rigging is not possible in today’s elections, dismissing opposition claims as baseless.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, he said those days are gone when elections could be manipulated. Mahesh Kumar Goud strongly refuted allegations by opposition parties that Congress had engaged in rigging.
Mahesh Goud asserted that the Congress government will return to power in Telangana. He said there is no threat to the Congress administration for the next ten years. He expressed confidence that the party will win the Jubilee Hills by-election with a clear majority.
Mahesh Kumar Goud appreciated the ministers and party in-charges for their effective campaign efforts.
Goud said polling percentage should have been higher and urged urban voters and youth to participate actively in future elections.
Dismissing BRS criticism, Goud said their remarks reflect frustration over their expected defeat. Goud said Telangana has been witnessing large-scale welfare schemes not seen anywhere else in the country. He noted that this has become a major advantage for Congress in the Jubilee Hills constituency.
Mahesh Kumar Goud claimed that there is a strong positive wave in Telangana and predicted another Congress government in the coming term.
He informed that the local body elections will be conducted soon as per the High Court’s directions. He added that the party leadership will discuss with AICC leaders before making further announcements.
Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Congress had planned to implement 42 percent reservations for BCs, but the BJP-led central government has been blocking it at every stage.
Goud clarified that the issue of cabinet expansion and reshuffle will be decided by the party high command.
Mahesh Goud stated that DCC presidents’ appointments are expected soon. He also accused the BRS of spreading fake surveys on social media to mislead the public. Goud clarified that he never sought any personal position.
Expressing confidence in the Mahagathbandhan’s victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, he said the Congress will soon form a committee to address vote-theft allegations. (Maxim News)
