Andhra Pradesh Maoist encounters | Hyderabad / Vijayawada, Nov 19: Andhra Pradesh’s Intelligence Director General, Mahesh Chandra Ladda, recently made a significant announcement amid ongoing encounters in the state.
He stated that if Maoists attempt to escape, the police will welcome them with force. He also confirmed that the state plans to conclude Operation Kagar by March 2026.
Addressing fears of encounters, he cautioned that those scared of encounters might try to flee through media influence but assured the authorities are prepared.
Andhra Pradesh Maoist encounters
So far, 50 Maoists have been arrested in Andhra Pradesh. Mahesh Chandra clarified that none of the Maoists who have fled have been killed in encounters by the police.
However, he warned that anyone found anywhere in the state might face encounter situations with police.
Recently, in an encounter on Tuesday, the bodies of deceased Maoists were kept at the Rampachodavaram government hospital.
The postmortem process has been completed, and family members will soon be given the bodies. Forensic teams from Kakinada and Visakhapatnam are scheduled to conduct further postmortem examinations shortly.
Strong police contingents have been deployed around the hospital area to maintain order.
In another recent encounter in the Jiyyam migration area, DG Mahesh Chandra confirmed seven Maoists died.
The details about the deceased are yet to be fully disclosed, but initial reports suggest that some key Maoist leaders were among the dead. Further information is expected to be released soon.
This intensified crackdown shows Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to combating the Maoist insurgency through strategic police actions and operations like Kagar aimed at restoring peace and security in affected regions.
