Hyderabad, June 6: Heavy rain lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Saturday evening, bringing relief from the intense heat but causing traffic congestion across key roads in the city. Rainfall was reported in several localities, leading to cooler weather conditions.
Areas including Panjagutta, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Filmnagar, Hi Tech City, Gachibowli, and the IT corridor witnessed heavy rain. Moderate to heavy rainfall was also recorded in Khairatabad, Koti, Dilsukhnagar, and LB Nagar.
Heavy Rain in Hyderabad Disrupts Traffic Movement
Uppal, Serilingampally, Kukatpally, Nizampet, Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, and Golconda also received rainfall, leaving large parts of the city drenched.
The rain led to traffic slowdowns in several areas. Major congestion was reported in the IT corridor, Hi Tech City, Gachibowli, Panjagutta, and Banjara Hills. Office commuters and motorists faced delays while returning home during the evening hours.
In some locations, water accumulation on roads forced two wheeler riders to travel cautiously. Traffic police advised motorists to use alternate routes where necessary to avoid congestion.

According to weather officials, Hyderabad and nearby areas are likely to receive rain accompanied by thunder and lightning for a few more hours. The department also warned of gusty winds in isolated places.
Authorities advised residents to venture outdoors only when necessary and remain cautious while travelling through waterlogged stretches. The rainfall has lowered temperatures across the city and provided temporary relief from the prevailing summer heat.
