They spoke at a three day national seminar titled “The Contribution of Muslims in the Development and Progress of India”.

The event took place at the new Dar al Tarbiya auditorium of Al Mahad Al Aali Al Islami. The first session took place under the chairmanship of Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani. The seminar placed firm focus on Muslim contribution to India and its role in national growth.

Muslim Contribution to India Discussed at Key Sessions

Speakers said India’s progress links directly to the service of Muslim rulers, scholars, freedom fighters and workers.

They also warned about attempts to hide this history. They said some groups push fear and distort facts.

They urged the community to preserve accurate records. They also said students need access to verified material. This, they said, will promote unity and national strength.

Participants raised strong concern about distorted textbooks. They said films show false events. They noted that selective narratives harm youth. Speaker also pointed to hate campaigns against traders. They urged collective action to provide clear and simple historical content.

Noted academic Dr Ram Puniyani addressed the audience. He said Hindus and Muslims fought the 1857 revolt together. He said the British responded with division.

Dr Ram Puniyani warned that some groups now follow the same pattern. He said hate leads to riots. He also said people stay united when respect guides them.

Muslim contribution to India

Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani delivered the keynote address. He said Muslims treated India as their homeland from the start.

He listed examples of monuments, gardens, cities and institutions built during Muslim rule. Maulana Khalid said these works shaped India’s culture and economy.

Maulana Khalid highlighted contributions by Azim Premji, MA Yusuff Ali and many others. He also praised Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. He said their work shows clear Muslim contribution to India across sectors.

Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani said Muslim scholars also supported reforms and promoted rights. He said some constitutional values reflect principles found in Islamic texts. He warned about attempts to paint Muslims as oppressors. He said the seminar aims to present facts, not provoke conflict.

Former IPS officer Abdul Rahman focused on low Muslim presence in bureaucracy. He said Muslims form only four percent of the service.

Abdul Rahman cited the fact that only one Muslim served as IB chief and one as cabinet secretary. He described this as structural exclusion.

Researchers then presented papers on industry, agriculture, architecture and engineering. Presentations came from scholars from Kashmir, Delhi and Hyderabad.

Maulana Umar Abideen Qasmi Madani moderated the sessions.
