Congress district committees | Hyderabad, Nov. 25: Congress leadership pushed forward with a full overhaul of its district units after it completed the appointment of new DCC chiefs.

The party shifted its focus to the structure of district committees. It also deployed AICC observers to study ground realities. They gathered opinions from local workers. They checked social representation and district conditions.

Observer then sent shortlists with three or four names from every district to AICC. The party finalised new DCC chiefs after this review.

TPCC now began work on forming new DCC committees. The party drafted a clear outline for key positions. It plans one vice president and one official spokesperson from every assembly segment. It also plans two general secretaries from each segment. Each mandal will get one general secretary.

Remaining active leaders will serve as committee members. This structure will bring many field level workers into the system.

The party expects strong participation from village and mandal units.

DCC POSITIONS SEE STRONG COMPETITION

Several districts saw intense contests for DCC posts. Many leaders submitted applications to AICC observers. Nalgonda witnessed heavy competition.

Kondeti Mallayya, Punna Kailash, Gummula Mohan Reddy, Chamala Srinu, and Daida Ravinder contested for the top post.

The party gave priority to a BC leader and appointed Kailash. Mohan Reddy expressed open dissatisfaction.

Telangana Congress District Committees

In Yadadri district, several leaders sought the post. They included MLA Beerla Ilaiya, Sanjeeva Reddy, Barre Jahangir, Pramod Kumar, T Venkatesh, Shankar Nayak, and Pavani.

Suryapet also saw strong claims. Gudipati Narsayya, incumbent chief Cheviti Venkanna, MLA Uttam Padmavathi, and Chakilam Rajeshwar Rao applied.

In Mahabubabad, Dantu Yadagiri resigned after he failed to secure the post. In Nagarkurnool, MLA Rajesh Reddy sought the post.

In Wanaparthy, MLA Megha Reddy also made a claim. In Mahabubnagar, long time chief G Madhusudhan Reddy was replaced. The party appointed BC leader Sanjeev Mudiraj. Senior leader Edala Jeevan Reddy was also considered.
Nizamabad recorded eighteen contestants. Marachandramohan Reddy, Munipalli Sai Reddy, Badsi Shekhar Goud, and Venugopal Yadav all sought the post.

In Medchal, incumbent Singireddy Hari Vardhan Reddy, Nakka Prabhakar Goud, and Kuna Srisailam Goud were in the race.

Sangareddy saw thirty six applicants. The decision remains pending due to internal gaps. Nirmala Jagga Reddy and NRI Ujwal Reddy are under consideration.

In Rangareddy, competition between Chigurinta Parijatha Narasimhareddy and Rajireddy kept the post pending. In Siddipet, Pujala Harikrishna, Shravan Kumar Reddy, and Girikonda Reddy sought the leadership.

Many senior leaders across districts failed to secure DCC posts. Party leaders said they may receive ZPTC, ZC chairperson, nominated roles, or TPCC state committee positions.

Congress leadership aims to settle dissatisfaction. It wants full unity before the coming local body elections.
