Rooplathanda Unanimous Election Marks Congress Push in Telangana

Rooplathanda unanimous election |  Hyderabad, Nov. 27: Congress leaders launched their victory march for the upcoming local body polls in Telangana as Rooplathanda recorded a rare unanimous election.

The village sits in Rajanna Sircilla district, which BRS working president K T Rama Rao represents.

However, the event carried broader significance because residents chose unity. They avoided any contest and selected their gram panchayat without conflict.

Villagers named Jawahar Lal Naik as sarpanch. They also chose all eight ward members. They made the selections before the official gram panchayat elections.

Rooplathanda, with about 390 residents, became the first gram panchayat in the district to record a full consensus. It also became the first to do so across Telangana.

Moreover, the selection highlighted a preference for harmony. Residents said they wanted calm polls. They said they preferred a process that kept the community together. They also said they wanted quick development without political rifts.

Naik, a local resident, enjoyed support across party lines. He said he would focus on basic facilities. He said he would repair internal roads. He said he would improve the drinking water supply. He said he would address long pending issues. 

He added that he would complete the tasks even if funds fell short. He said he would work with district officials. He said he would ensure regular updates to villagers.

Furthermore, local leaders described the choice as a message of unity. They said the model could inspire nearby villages. They also said it could lower poll tensions in rural belts.
After the unanimous selection, villagers met at the community centre. 

They congratulated Naik. They performed small cultural activities. They welcomed the decision with steady enthusiasm. They said the village now expects fast progress.
