Prime Minister Modi said India has not only practiced democracy but strengthened trust in it. He pointed to the high voter turnout in the Bihar elections. He highlighted strong participation by women and said it shows the robust nature of the system. He then made a pointed remark toward the Opposition. He said he hoped they had accepted their setback in Bihar by now. However, he noted that their reactions suggest otherwise. He added that he is ready to offer suggestions to them. He said he would help them improve their performance in the House after their inability to make an impact in recent elections.

Meanwhile, the BJP led NDA achieved a sweeping victory in the 2025 Bihar assembly elections. The alliance won 202 of the 243 seats. The Congress led INDI bloc secured only 35 seats. The results set the tone for the Winter Session. The Opposition plans to demand a debate on the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The government has not committed to that discussion yet. Instead, it has lined up ten new bills for introduction. Parliament will also hold a discussion on the 150th year of Vande Mataram.

The Winter Session will run until December 19. The government expects the House to hold productive discussions. The Prime Minister’s remarks suggest he wants debate without disruption. The session is likely to see sharp exchanges. However, leaders on both sides will watch how the Opposition responds to the Bihar verdict and to the Prime Minister’s call for discipline and performance.
