The Ministry of External Affairs said New Delhi has taken serious note of developments across the border. Speaking on Friday, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India continues to closely monitor the law and order situation in Bangladesh. He stressed that such attacks cannot be ignored or played down.

“We are all aware of the recent developments in Bangladesh. We have been closely following them and as far as law and order situation is concerned, I have been apprising you from time to time as to what our position has been or should be and is today. The unremitting hostility against minorities in Bangladesh including Hindus, Christians and Buddhists at the hands of extremists is a matter of grave concern,” Jaiswal said.

He also condemned the killing of a Hindu youth and urged action against those responsible. “We condemn the recent gruesome killing of a Hindu youth in Mymensingh and expect that the perpetrators of the crime will be brought to justice. Over 2,900 incidents of violence against minorities, including cases of killings, arsons, and land grabs, have been documented by independent sources during the tenure of the interim government. These incidents cannot be brushed aside as mere media exaggerations or dismissed as political violence,” the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, officials said the latest lynching came just a day after another similar incident, which further deepened concerns. The repeated attacks have triggered serious diplomatic attention, especially as the victims belong to minority communities.

India also expressed hope that Bangladesh authorities would identify those involved and ensure punishment. Therefore, New Delhi underlined that protecting minorities remains essential for stability and justice. The government made it clear that continued violence against Hindus and other minorities will remain a matter of close watch and concern.
