Hyderabad, Dec. 28: The specialized Eagle Team of the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau launched a massive crackdown on drug consumption in city pubs on Sunday afternoon.
Officials conducted surprise inspections at several entertainment venues including the Quake Arena Pub to curb substance abuse ahead of New Year celebrations.
During the operation, security personnel identified suspicious individuals and administered immediate drug detection tests to the attendees.
Initial reports indicate that eight youths tested positive for narcotic substances during the clinical screenings at the venue.
Narcotics Bureau Intensifies Enforcement Operations
The enforcement drive aligns with the state government’s zero tolerance policy toward narcotics and psychotropic substances.
Police officials increased surveillance across Dilsukhnagar, Jubilee Hills, and Banjara Hills to prevent the transport of ganja and synthetic drugs.
Organized parties and clubs are under strict observation as organizers plan major events for the upcoming year-end festivities.
The Eagle Team plans to continue these random inspections throughout the week to ensure public safety and law enforcement.
Investigators are currently questioning the detained individuals to identify the primary suppliers and distribution networks operating within the city.
