According to the police press release, traffic will not be allowed on NTR Marg, PVNR Marg or Necklace Road, and Tank Bund from 11 pm to 2 am on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1, 2026. Meanwhile, the police also decided to close all flyovers in the city, except those at Begumpet and Tolichowki. However, the PVNR Expressway flyover will remain open only for commuters holding valid air tickets for travel to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad.

The Hyderabad traffic diversions also include restrictions on heavy vehicles. Private travel buses, lorries, heavy goods vehicles, and heavy passenger vehicles will not be permitted to enter Hyderabad city limits from 10 pm on December 31 until 2 am on January 1. Therefore, the police advised all such vehicles, including private travel buses bound for Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and other states, to use the Outer Ring Road route during the restricted hours.

Meanwhile, the police advised visitors planning to walk to Tank Bund to park their vehicles at designated locations. These include Secretariat visitors’ parking, the HMDA parking ground beside Prasad’s Multiplex, the GHMC head office lane, Race Course Road beside NTR Ghat, Adarsh Nagar lane for two wheelers, and the NTR Stadium. The police said these arrangements will help reduce congestion near Hussain Sagar.

In addition, the police directed the management of three star and above hotels, clubs, bars, pubs, and event organisers to arrange special parking and deploy security staff to regulate traffic. While liquor service will be limited to fixed hours, the management was also asked to provide safe transport to intoxicated patrons.
