Young Woman Drug Peddler Arrested in Hyderabad: From Addict to Supplier
Hyderabad | January 1 (Maxim News): Despite sustained efforts by the Hyderabad police to curb the menace of drug trafficking, peddlers continue to target new consumers, especially youth. In a significant breakthrough, the anti-drugs team has arrested a young woman drug peddler who was allegedly transporting narcotics from Goa to Hyderabad in large quantities.
The accused has been identified as Hassa, a resident of Banjara Hills. According to police officials, she first visited Goa in December 2024, where she reportedly consumed MDMA for the first time. Over time, she became addicted to drugs, which eventually led her to enter the illegal drug trade.
From Consumer to Peddler
Police investigations revealed that Hassa did not remain a mere consumer. Driven by the lure of quick and easy money, she allegedly transformed into a drug peddler. Officials said she established links with the Nigerian drug mafia operating in Goa, from whom she procured high-value drugs such as MDMA and LSD at lower prices.
She then transported these narcotics to Hyderabad and sold them to local youth, exploiting existing demand in the city.
Multiple Trips and Drug Deals
Evidence collected by the police indicates that Hassa had travelled to Goa several times since March 2025 to procure drugs. Investigators found that she conducted drug transactions in the Siolim and Mapusa areas on December 26.
The police said her repeated movements and established supply chain point to a well-organised operation rather than an isolated act.
Previous NDPS Case
Hassa is not new to police records. She was earlier booked under the NDPS Act at Golconda Police Station in a previous drug-related case. She had gone to jail and was recently released on bail. However, instead of reforming, she allegedly resumed drug trafficking activities soon after her release.
Police stated that she continued her operations with the help of associates based in Hyderabad, without changing her modus operandi.
Further Probe Underway
Investigators are now focusing on identifying her customers in Hyderabad and tracing other members involved in the supply chain. Police officials said efforts are underway to dismantle the entire network.
“The remaining accused involved in this drug chain will be arrested soon,” police assured.
The arrest highlights the growing concern over drug addiction turning users into traffickers, posing a serious challenge to law enforcement and society at large.
