WATCH | Musi Is No Longer River: Sewage Plant: Akbaruddin Owaisi
Hyderabad, Jan 2 (Maxim News): AIMIM floor leader in Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi said that the lives of the poor should not be ruined due to the Musi cleansing. He questioned from where to where the actual Musi cleansing will be done. He demanded that the Congress government tell him what the plans are from Vikarabad to Gandipet.
During the discussion on the Musi cleanup on the second day of the assembly session, Akbaruddin Owaisi asked, “Will the Musi cleanup be done from Vikarabad? Will it be done from the middle?” He asked what the catchment area of Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar was. He said that Musi is ranked 8th in terms of pollution in the world.
Akbaruddin criticized Musi is not river. They are now sewage plants. He said that all the sewage in the city is going into the Musi river. He said that sewage water also gets into the Gandipet reservoir. He asked that the silt in Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, which were built decades ago, be removed and their capacity should be increased. He said that if the water storage capacity is increased, the Godavari waters can be diverted. He questioned what happened to the pedestrian project started at Charminar three years ago. (Maxim News)
