359th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji to Be Celebrated on Grand Scale on January 4
Hyderabad, Jan 2 (Maxim News): The 359th Prakash Purab (Holy Birthday) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth and last Sikh Guru and the founder of the Khalsa Panth, will be celebrated on a grand scale in Secunderabad on January 4, 2026 (Sunday) as part of the ongoing worldwide commemorations.
In this connection, a “Vishaal Deewan” (mass congregation) will be organised under the aegis of the Prabhandak Committee, Gurdwara Sahib Secunderabad, at Tivoli Gardens, Secunderabad, from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm.
Providing details, Gurdwara Sahib Secunderabad Prabhandak Committee President S. Baldev Singh Bagga, General Secretary S. Jagmohan Singh, and Secretary Harpreet Singh Gulati said that hundreds of Sikh devotees, along with people from other faiths, are expected to participate in the congregation. They said the event will be marked by the recitation of Gurbani Kirtans (holy hymns) and Gurbani Vichar, highlighting the teachings and sacrifices of the Sikh Gurus.
Several reputed Ragi Jathas from different parts of the country have been specially invited to render Shabad Kirtans, Kathas and spiritual discourses. Among those scheduled to perform are Bhai Sarabjit Singh (Patna Sahib wale), Singh Sahib Giani Jaswinder Singh (former Head Granthi, Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar), Giani Jagdev Singh, Bhai Varjinder Singh, along with other eminent Ragi Jathas.
The speakers said the programme aims to spread the message of equality, courage, sacrifice and service to humanity, as taught by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. After the conclusion of the congregation, Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to all devotees.
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji is remembered for sacrificing his life and family for the protection of the weak and oppressed and for inspiring people to stand against injustice and tyranny. The organisers have appealed to devotees and the general public to participate in large numbers and make the programme a success.
