The training programme is organised by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India in collaboration with the Hyderabad Tiger Conservation Society. According to officials, around 50 tribal women from the village are taking part. The workshop began on November 14 and will conclude on January 14. Experts are guiding the participants throughout the programme.

Meanwhile, the women are learning to make a wide range of bamboo products. These include mobile stands, pen stands, bangle stands, office trays, chairs, sofas, flower vases, exam pads, foldable relaxing chairs, clips, coffee trays, and other utility and decorative items. Officials said the hands on training is designed to match local skills with market demand. Therefore, the programme focuses on both quality and practical design.

Devender Bukya, Project Officer of EDII, recently visited the workshop. He explained the objective behind the initiative. “Financial independence brings dignity, respect, and confidence in society. Most rural women are currently engaged in unorganised sectors that demand hard labour but provide very low income. EDII is committed to bridging this gap by supporting women with skill training, entrepreneurship development, and market linkages,” he said.

Also, EDII is jointly conducting several skill development programmes for tribal women living in and around the Kawal Tiger Reserve. Officials said these efforts aim to create sustainable livelihood options and promote women entrepreneurship among marginalised tribal communities. The focus remains on long term income generation rather than short term support.

Officials further said bamboo based products help reduce plastic use. At the same time, they create livelihood options for forest dependent communities. The women participants expressed gratitude to forest officials, EDII, and HyTiCoS for supporting their livelihoods through this training.

Under the same initiative, officials disclosed that 280 tribal women from different villages have already received training in income generating trades. Therefore, the current workshop forms part of a broader effort to strengthen rural livelihoods through skill based employment.
