Telangana High Court Relief For Chiranjeevi Prabhas Films
Hyderabad, Jan. 7 (Maxim News) : The Telangana High Court relief has brought significant respite to the producers of Megastar Chiranjeevi and Rebel Star Prabhas films.
The court clarified that earlier restrictions on ticket price hikes and additional shows will not apply to their upcoming movies. This development has eased concerns among film producers ahead of the theatrical releases scheduled in January.
Earlier, a single bench of the Telangana High Court had issued orders restricting ticket price increases and the grant of extra shows.
Those orders created uncertainty across the film industry. However, the producers of Chiranjeevi’s “Manashankar Varaprasad Gari” and Prabhas’s “Raja Saab” challenged the single bench orders before a division bench. Therefore, the matter came up for fresh consideration.
During the hearing on Wednesday, the division bench accepted the petitions filed by the producers. The court then made its position clear.
It stated that the single bench judgment would apply only to specific films, namely Game Changer, Pushpa 2, OG, and Akhanda 2.
Meanwhile, the bench clarified that the earlier orders would not extend to the films starring Chiranjeevi and Prabhas. As a result, the Telangana High Court relief directly benefited the makers of these two projects.
This clarification played a crucial role for the producers. Until this point, there was confusion about whether the same restrictions would affect all big-budget releases. However, the division bench clearly limited the scope of the earlier ruling.
Therefore, producers associated with “Manashankar Varaprasad Gari” and “Raja Saab” felt relieved after the court’s observation.
The timing of the Telangana High Court relief is also important. Chiranjeevi’s “Manashankar Varaprasad Gari” is scheduled for release on January 12. Meanwhile, Prabhas’s “Raja Saab” is set to hit theatres on January 9. With the release dates approaching fast, the court’s clarification has removed a major hurdle for the film teams.
Industry observers note that court orders on ticket pricing and additional shows often impact release strategies. In this case, however, the division bench ensured that the earlier restrictions did not automatically extend to all films.
Therefore, the Telangana High Court relief has restored clarity for these releases.
While the legal process continues for other films mentioned in the single bench order, the immediate outcome has favoured the Chiranjeevi and Prabhas projects.
As things stand, the producers can now move ahead with their release plans without the fear of the earlier restrictions applying to them. (Maxim News)
