Hyderabad Police Intensifies Crack Down on Chinese Manja
Hyderabad, Jan 8 (Maxim News): Hyderabad Police have intensified their crackdown on the illegal sale and use of Chinese manja, registering 103 cases and arresting 143 persons across the city. During the operation, police seized a massive 6,226 bobbins of the banned manja, highlighting the scale of the illegal trade.
Hyderabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar said the sale and use of Chinese manja is strictly banned and attracts serious legal action. He stressed that the dangerous string poses a major threat to public safety, birds, and animals. Therefore, the police are taking firm steps to eliminate its circulation.
Meanwhile, Sajjanar said the Hyderabad police have been closely monitoring the Chinese manja trade for the last one month. Special teams, along with local police, are conducting frequent raids on shops and godowns across the city. These coordinated operations aim to seize the banned material and identify those involved in its distribution network.
He also said that cases are being registered under the Environment Protection Act and the BNS Act. “In every case a detailed investigation team is being done to identify the source of the Chinese manja,” Sajjanar stated, underlining the focus on tracking suppliers and larger networks.
Additionally, the police are keeping a close watch on e-commerce websites and online platforms. Sajjanar warned that cases will be registered against the management of such platforms if banned Chinese manja is found being sold. He urged people not to use Chinese manja, clearly stating that any violation will invite strict legal action. (Maxim News)
