Telangana Needs To Be Raised At Union Finance Meet

Hyderabad: State needs will be presented to the Union Finance Minister during the ongoing budget preparatory meeting in Delhi, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said on Friday. He attended the meeting chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and said he would place key state issues before the Centre.

The Deputy CM said the meeting offered an opportunity to explain Telangana’s requirements in detail. Therefore, he decided to highlight several priority areas linked to education, health, and infrastructure. He said he would submit proposals related to these sectors and seek support from the Union government. Meanwhile, the budget preparatory meeting is continuing in Delhi with participation from state finance ministers.

Deputy CM Bhatti said he would bring the establishment of Young India Schools to the attention of the Union Finance Minister. He also said he would raise issues related to medical facilities and infrastructure that are connected to the state’s interests. According to him, education remains a key focus area for the state government. Therefore, he plans to seek cooperation from the Centre to strengthen related projects.

Meanwhile, the Deputy CM said the state would seek financial support for the construction of super specialty hospitals. He said these hospitals are important to improve advanced healthcare services. He also said Telangana would request funds for major infrastructure works, including the regional ring road and sewerage treatment projects. These projects, he said, are essential for urban development and public health.

In addition, Bhatti Vikramarka said he would seek support for metro rail expansion in Telangana. He also said the state would raise the issue of funds under the National Employment Guarantee Scheme. According to him, this scheme plays a crucial role in providing employment opportunities. Therefore, he said financial assistance is needed to strengthen its implementation in the state.

The Deputy CM further said proposals related to Young India Schools would be submitted as part of the discussions. He said the state aims to expand access to quality education through these schools. Meanwhile, officials said the budget preparatory meeting allows states to present their priorities ahead of the Union Budget.

The Telangana government hopes the Centre will consider the proposals positively. The discussions are expected to continue as part of the ongoing consultations led by the Union Finance Minister. The outcome of the meeting will shape the state’s expectations from the upcoming Union Budget.
